What you get
A 16 mm mechanical seal with silicon-carbide faces on both halves — the hard-wearing spec Davey chose for this family. SiC runs cooler and outlasts carbon/ceramic several times over in dirty or mineral-heavy water.
How you know it’s this part
PowerMaster-era pumps are usually 15+ years old and on their second or third seal. If yours is leaking again within a season or two of the last fix, cheap soft-faced seals are the reason — this is the part that breaks the cycle.
Fitting
As per the standard strip-down, but treat SiC faces like glass: no fingerprints, no taps, nothing between the faces but water. Guide here.
