The DAB Jet 200 takes a mechanical shaft seal for a 17-18 mm shaft with carbon / ceramic faces. This CapacitorsNZ seal replaces DAB part 200M/6 and is also listed for the DAB Jet 300 and the Ebara DWO 150M and DWO 200M. Measure your shaft and compare the old seal against the photos before you fit it.
Signs the DAB Jet 200 seal has failed
A mechanical seal is two rings running against each other: a spring-loaded face that turns with the shaft and a stationary seat set in the pump casing. Once the faces wear, chip or run dry, water gets past them. Typical symptoms:
- water dripping or weeping from the gap between the pump body and the motor
- on a pressure set-up, the pump cycling on and off with every tap shut
- a damp patch, scale or rust streaks under the motor end
DAB 200M/6 part number and pumps that share this seal
This seal replaces DAB 200M/6, the seal reference for the Jet 200. Our listings carry the same seal for the DAB Jet 300, Ebara DWO 150M and Ebara DWO 200M. It is also listed for pumps we don’t have separate pages for, including the DAB KH25/80 and KH30/90, Calpeda NM25/160A, Pedrollo CP220B and JSW3A, Saer M150 and M200, and the Davies JB and KC Series.
The same part is sold on its own as our 17-18 mm carbon / ceramic pump seal if you are servicing one of those other pumps. For the Jet 200 itself, the DAB Jet 200 service kit pairs this seal with a run capacitor, and seals for other DAB models are under DAB service kits.
Fitting notes for the Jet 200 seal
Isolate the power and drain the pump before you start. Measure the shaft with vernier calipers where the rotating half sits, and keep the old seal to compare side by side. Clean the seat bore and the shaft so the new faces sit square, and keep oil and fingerprints off the carbon and ceramic faces. A smear of water or soapy water helps the rubber parts slide on. Fit both halves of the new seal; never pair a new face with the old seat. If the motor bearings are noisy from earlier leaks, deal with them at the same time.
Before you order
Check the old part before fitting: match the size of your old seal.
