The Onga Leisuretime LTP750 pool pump uses a mechanical seal for a 1/2″ shaft with carbon / ceramic faces. Onga’s number for it is 702789, and the same seal is also referenced as Davey 48802SP. This aftermarket CapacitorsNZ seal is made to suit the LTP750 and replaces both numbers. Once the old seal is off the shaft, hold the two side by side to confirm the size before fitting.
Seal part numbers for the Onga Leisuretime LTP750
Start with the pump label: this seal page covers pumps marked LTP750 or LTP 750. If you have an old packet, a parts diagram or a pool shop quote, look for Onga 702789 or Davey 48802SP. Both point to this seal. It is a two-piece seal: a spring-loaded rotating half that rides on the shaft and a stationary seat that presses into the pump body, with one carbon face and one ceramic face running against each other. The identical seal is also sold without a model name as our 1/2″ jet pump seal for Onga Leisuretime and Davey X-series pumps.
Other pumps that take the LTP750 seal
The LTP750 shares its seal with the Leisuretime LTP400 and LTP550, the Onga Pantera PPP550 and a long list of Davey pumps. These have their own seal page: Onga Leisuretime LTP400, Onga Leisuretime LTP550, Onga Pantera PPP550 and Davey XP Series.
It is also listed for the Onga PPP750-2, Onga JJ400, Onga 4145-1, Onga 400 Series, Onga 200 Series spa pumps, Onga BR463-465 pool pumps, Davey 105 and 135, Davey XA85, XA105 and XA135, Davey Aqua-mate 350 and 450, Davey Power Chief 85, Davey HP, XD, XF and XS Series, Davey XB 73101 to 401, Davey Celsior bath pumps and the Wallace Hydrojet 35, 50 and 70.
Changing the seal on an LTP750
Turn the pump off at the wall and isolate it before you start, then close the valves and let the water drain from the pump body. The usual order on a pump of this style is to separate the motor from the wet end, hold the shaft still and remove the impeller, then slide the old rotating half off the shaft and push the old seat out of its housing.
A 1/2″ shaft is about 12.7 mm, so a quick check with calipers confirms the size. Wipe the seat bore clean, ease the new seat in with a smear of soapy water rather than grease, and keep the polished faces free of fingerprints and grit. Fill the pump with water before switching on, since even a short dry run can overheat and crack the new seal faces.
Before you order
Check the old part before fitting: match the size of your old seal.
