About this part

This is a 16 µF (16 uF / 16 MFD), 450 VAC CBB60 motor-run capacitor with core leads, listed to suit the DAB Jetinox 110M. The DAB Jet 102M and Aquajet 102M are listed with the same 16 µF rating. Before ordering, read the µF value printed on the side of your old capacitor; if it is not 16 µF, order the value that matches it instead.

Choosing the right capacitor for the DAB Jetinox 110M

Two numbers matter. The capacitance, shown as µF, uF or MFD on the label, must match the old capacitor, and a value within about 5% is normal tolerance. The voltage rating must be equal to or higher than the original, so a 450 VAC capacitor can replace a 400 or 450 VAC one, but a lower voltage part should never go in.

Body size and connection style matter less, as long as it fits the space. This one has core leads, which are joined into the existing wiring rather than pushed onto spade terminals. Pumps sometimes have their capacitor or motor changed over their life, so the value printed on your old capacitor is the final word, not the model name. If the label on your old capacitor is unreadable, contact us with a photo of it and the pump label.

How a failing run capacitor shows up

A run capacitor stays in circuit the whole time the motor runs and slowly loses capacitance with heat and age. A multimeter with a capacitance setting will confirm it: a reading well below the printed value means it needs replacing.

  • The motor hums but doesn’t turn, or only gets going if you spin the shaft.
  • The pump trips the breaker or thermal overload soon after switching on.
  • The motor runs slow, hot or louder than usual.
  • The old capacitor case is swollen, cracked or leaking.

Fitting it, and other pumps listed at 16 µF

Switch off and unplug the pump, then discharge the old capacitor across its leads, ideally through a resistor, before handling it. Photograph the wiring, connect the new leads the same way, and insulate the joins properly. If you are not confident with mains wiring, have an electrician fit it.

The same 16 µF rating is listed for the DAB Jet 102M and the DAB Aquajet 102M. The capacitor is also sold as a plain 16 µF 450 V CBB60 capacitor.

Before you order

Check the old part before fitting: match the µF printed on your old capacitor.

Questions

What size capacitor does a DAB Jetinox 110M take?

This listing for the DAB Jetinox 110M is a 16 µF 450 VAC run capacitor. Always match the µF printed on your old capacitor, and order that value if it differs.

Can I use a higher voltage capacitor on my Jetinox 110M?

Yes, a higher voltage rating is fine as long as the µF matches. Never fit a lower voltage rating than the original on a DAB Jetinox 110M.

Is the Jetinox 110M capacitor the same as the DAB Jet 102M one?

Both the DAB Jetinox 110M and Jet 102M are listed with a 16 µF 450 VAC capacitor. Check the label on the old capacitor of the pump you are working on, because that printed value is the one to match.

How do I know if my DAB Jetinox 110M capacitor is faulty?

Typical signs on a DAB Jetinox 110M are a motor that hums without starting, trips the breaker, or runs hot. A capacitance reading well under the value printed on the old capacitor, or a bulging case, confirms it.

What does flying leads mean on the Jetinox 110M capacitor?

The capacitor listed for the DAB Jetinox 110M has insulated wires coming out of the body instead of spade terminals, so the leads are joined into the pump's wiring.

What if it doesn't fit?

If you're unsure, send us a photo of your old part and the pump's label before ordering.
