This listing is a 16 µF (16 uF / 16 MFD), 450 VAC CBB60 motor-run capacitor with core leads, to suit the DAB Aquajet 102M single-phase jet pressure pump (0.75 kW motor). The DAB Jet 102M and Jetinox 110M use the same 16 µF rating. Read the µF printed on your old capacitor first, and order the value that matches it.
Choosing the right capacitor for the DAB Aquajet 102M
The number that matters is capacitance, shown on the old capacitor as µF, uF or MFD. A replacement should match it within about 5%, and its voltage rating should be the same as or higher than the old one. This capacitor is 16 µF at 450 VAC, which is ample for a pump on a normal 230 V supply.
Aquajet 102 and Aquajet Inox 102 are listed as other names for this pump, but don’t assume every version takes 16 µF, because motors can differ between production runs. If your old capacitor says anything other than 16 µF, use the DAB Aquajet 102M capacitor guide or contact us with a photo of its label.
How a failing run capacitor shows up
On a single-phase motor like this one the run capacitor stays in circuit the whole time the pump is running, giving the second winding the phase shift it needs. As it loses capacitance the motor gets weaker and hotter.
- A hum from the motor with no start, or a start only after the shaft is flicked over by hand.
- The overload or breaker tripping soon after the pump kicks in.
- Low pressure and a motor running noticeably hotter than it used to.
- A swollen, cracked or oily capacitor case.
Fitting it, and pumps with the same 16 µF rating
Isolate the pump at the switchboard and treat the old capacitor as charged until it has been safely discharged; a run capacitor can hold a charge after the power is off. Photograph the old connections first, then connect the core leads in the pump’s terminal box to the same points the old capacitor used. The same 16 µF rating is used on the DAB Jet 102M and DAB Jetinox 110M, and it is sold as a plain 16 µF 450 V CBB60 capacitor too.
If the shaft seal is weeping as well, the DAB Aquajet 102M service kit includes this capacitor with the seal.
Before you order
Check the old part before fitting: match the µF printed on your old capacitor.
