The DAB Aquajet 102M takes a mechanical seal for a 13 mm shaft with carbon / ceramic faces. DAB’s own number for this seal is 61M/16, and this aftermarket seal replaces it. The same seal suits several other DAB jet pumps, including the Jet 102M, Jetinox 90M and Aquajet 112M. Measure your shaft or compare the old seal before ordering.
Signs the DAB Aquajet 102M seal has failed
A mechanical seal stops water escaping where the motor shaft passes into the pump body. It has two halves: a spring-loaded face that turns with the shaft and a stationary seat pressed into the housing. Once the faces wear, crack or run dry, water gets past them.
- Drips or a steady weep from the gap between the pump body and the motor.
- A wet patch, rust streaks or mineral crust under the motor end.
- The pressure switch kicking the pump on now and then with every tap closed.
- A squeal from the seal area after the pump has run without water, which can crack or scorch the faces.

Fitting notes
Turn the power off at the switchboard and drain the pump before you start. With the pump body off, remove the impeller to reach the old seal, then press the old seat out of the housing. Clean the seat recess and the shaft, and fit the new parts with only water or a little soapy water as a lubricant; oil or grease can damage the rubber. Keep fingers off the polished faces, and never run the pump dry once it is back together.
