The DAB K20/41 takes a mechanical seal for a 13 mm shaft with carbon / ceramic faces. DAB’s reference for this seal is 61M/16, and this CapacitorsNZ seal replaces it. It is a two-piece design: a spring-loaded face that turns with the shaft and a stationary seat held in the pump casing. The same seal also suits several DAB Jet, Jetinox and Aquajet models, so compare it with your old seal before fitting.
Pumps that share the DAB K20/41 seal (61M/16)
The 61M/16 seal is shared across several DAB pumps. These models have their own seal page: DAB Aquajet 102M, DAB Aquajet 112M, DAB Aquajet 132M, DAB Jet 82M, DAB Jet 102M, DAB Jet 151, DAB Jet 251, DAB Jetinox 90M and DAB Jetinox 110M.

Signs the DAB K20/41 seal has failed
Change the seal as soon as a leak shows up. Water running along the shaft is a common way a motor ends up with noisy bearings.
- Drips or a steady weep from the gap between the pump end and the motor.
- A damp patch, mineral crust or rust streak under the motor.
- On a pressure-switch setup, the pump cutting in and out while every tap is shut.
Fitting a new seal to the DAB K20/41
Measure the shaft where the seal sits, not at the end: it should read 13 mm. Clean the seat bore in the casing before pressing the new stationary seat in squarely, and keep fingers and grease off both polished faces. A little water or soapy water helps the rubber parts slide on. Fit both halves of the new seal together rather than reusing an old seat, and never run the pump dry once it is back together, because the faces rely on water to stay cool.
