The DAB Jet 102M takes a 13 mm mechanical seal with carbon / ceramic faces, and this one replaces DAB part 61M/16. It suits the 0.75 kW single-phase Jet 102M jet pressure pump, including pumps labelled Jetinox 102M, Jetcom 102M or Jinox 102M. The same seal fits several other DAB jet pumps, so compare your old seal before fitting.
DAB Jet 102M seal part number and spec
This seal replaces DAB 61M/16. It is built for a 13 mm shaft and has carbon / ceramic faces. Like most mechanical seals it comes in two halves: a spring-loaded rotating part that rides on the shaft behind the impeller, and a stationary seat fitted into the pump casing. The two polished faces running together are what keep water in the pump and off the motor shaft. The same seal is also sold on its own as our jet pump seal for DAB Jet and Jetinox pumps.
Signs the Jet 102M seal is leaking
Change a leaking seal early. Water that tracks along the shaft ends up in the front motor bearing, and a seal is a far smaller job than a motor.
- Drips or a steady weep from the gap between the pump end and the motor.
- A wet patch, white scale or rust staining under the motor end.
- The pump cutting in now and then with every tap shut, as pressure leaks away.
- Grinding or squealing from the seal area after the pump has been run dry.

Fitting a new seal to the Jet 102M
Turn the power off at the switchboard and drain the pump before you start. Fit both halves of the new seal together and never reuse an old seat against a new face. Keep the faces clean and dry, and wet only the rubber parts with soapy water so they slide home. Fill the pump with water before the first start, because dry running quickly overheats the new faces and can crack or score them.
