About this part

This is a 16 µF (16 uF / 16 MFD), 450 VAC CBB60 motor-run capacitor with core leads, to suit the DAB Jet 102M, a 0.75 kW single-phase jet pressure pump. The DAB Aquajet 102M and Jetinox 110M use the same 16 µF rating. Capacitor values can vary on pumps with similar labels, so read the µF printed on your old capacitor and order the value that matches.

Choosing the right capacitor for the DAB Jet 102M

Pumps in this family may carry a Jetinox 102M, Jetcom 102M or Jinox 102M label, but what counts is the value printed on the capacitor, not the badge. Look on the side of the old capacitor for a figure in µF, uF or MFD. A replacement needs to match that figure within about 5%, and its voltage rating must be equal to or above the old one. 450 VAC is the usual rating for run capacitors on 230 V single-phase pump motors.

If your old capacitor shows something other than 16 µF, don’t fit this one. Check the DAB Jet 102M capacitor guide or send us a photo of the old label and we will help you match it.

Signs the Jet 102M run capacitor is failing

In a single-phase motor fitted with a run capacitor, the capacitor shifts the phase of the current in the auxiliary winding, which gives the motor its starting torque and keeps it running efficiently. Film capacitors slowly lose capacitance with heat and age, and as the value drops the motor struggles.

  • The motor hums at switch-on but the shaft doesn’t turn until it is nudged.
  • The breaker or a thermal overload trips soon after starting.
  • Pressure is weak and the motor casing gets very hot.
  • The old capacitor case is swollen, split or leaking oil.

Swapping the Jet 102M capacitor safely

Switch the pump off at the board and wait a few minutes before you open the terminal box, and treat the old capacitor as charged until you are sure it is not. Photograph how the existing leads are connected, then join the new core leads in the same places. A run capacitor is not polarised, so either lead can go to either terminal. The same rating is listed for the DAB Aquajet 102M and DAB Jetinox 110M, and it is sold on its own as a 16 µF 450 V CBB60 capacitor.

If the shaft seal is also weeping, the Jet 102M service kit includes this capacitor with a matching seal. Parts for other DAB pumps are on our DAB service kits page.

Before you order

Check the old part before fitting: match the µF printed on your old capacitor.

Questions

What size capacitor does a DAB Jet 102M take?

This listing for the DAB Jet 102M is 16 µF at 450 VAC with flying leads. Always match the µF printed on your old capacitor; if it differs, order that value.

Does the Jetinox 102M take the same capacitor as the Jet 102M?

Not necessarily. Jetinox 102M is a name used on pumps in the Jet 102M family, but read the µF on the old capacitor and match that value rather than going by the label.

Can I fit a higher voltage capacitor to my DAB Jet 102M?

Yes, a higher voltage rating is fine as long as the µF value matches. Never use one rated below the voltage of the original on a DAB Jet 102M.

How do I tell if my Jet 102M capacitor has failed?

A DAB Jet 102M that hums without starting, trips the overload, or runs hot with weak pressure often has a worn run capacitor. A bulging or leaking case is a clear sign it needs replacing.

Which other DAB pumps use a 16 µF capacitor?

The DAB Aquajet 102M and Jetinox 110M share the 16 µF 450 VAC rating with the Jet 102M. Confirm against the value on your own old capacitor.

What if it doesn't fit?

If you're unsure, send us a photo of your old part and the pump's label before ordering.
