The DAB Jetinox 110M takes a mechanical seal for a 13 mm shaft with carbon / ceramic faces. This aftermarket CapacitorsNZ seal replaces DAB 61M/16, the seal reference for this model. The same seal also suits other DAB pumps including the Jetinox 90M, Jet 102M and Aquajet 112M. Measure the shaft or compare your old seal before ordering.
Signs the Jetinox 110M seal has failed
A mechanical seal has two faces that run against each other on a thin film of water: a spring-loaded rotating face on the shaft and a stationary seat in the pump casing. Once those faces are scored, or the rubber parts harden and shrink, water gets past. Replace it early, because water running along the shaft can reach the motor bearings.
- Water dripping or spraying from the gap between the pump casing and the motor.
- The pump kicking in on its own with every tap closed, because it is losing pressure.
- Rust streaks, scale or a damp patch under the motor end.
- A squeal or grinding from the seal area after the pump has run without water.
Other pumps that share the Jetinox 110M seal
The 61M/16 seal in the Jetinox 110M is shared with several DAB pumps that have listings of their own: DAB Aquajet 102M, DAB Aquajet 112M, DAB Aquajet 132M, DAB Jet 102M, DAB Jet 151, DAB Jet 251, DAB Jet 82M, DAB Jetinox 90M and DAB K20/41.
It also suits pumps we don’t have a model page for, including the DAB Aquajet 82M, Jet 61, Jet 81 and Jet 100, Grundfos JPF2 and JPF3, Onga SF55-65, Saer CMP76, CMP79 and M60-M100, the Pentax CM50, CM75, CM100, INOX, JX, JPL, JMC, JMRC and CAM, and Davies JET, K, KA and KP Series up to 1.2Hp and JAP Series up to 1.0Hp. The same seal is sold on its own as our 13 mm carbon / ceramic seal.
Fitting a new seal to the DAB Jetinox 110M
Isolate the power, drain the casing and separate the motor from the pump body. Unscrew the impeller while holding the shaft still at the fan end, then slide off the rotating half of the old seal and lever the stationary seat out of the casing. Clean the seat bore, press the new stationary seat in square using clean fingers or a soft tool, and lubricate the rubber parts with water or a little soapy water, not grease.
Keep the polished faces spotless, as a fingerprint or a speck of grit can cause a leak straight away. Prime the pump fully before switching it on, because running a new seal dry can damage its faces within seconds. If your old seal looks different from the photos, contact us with a picture of it before you fit anything. Other DAB models are listed on our DAB service kits page.
Before you order
Check the old part before fitting: match the size of your old seal.
