The bearing set to suit the DAB Jetinox 110M is a matched pair of sealed ball bearings: one for the drive end of the motor shaft, next to the pump, and one for the fan end. Both come together so the motor can be done in a single strip-down. The DAB Jetinox 90M and Jet 82M use the same set. Compare your old bearings before pressing the new ones on.
Signs the DAB Jetinox 110M motor bearings are worn
Sealed ball bearings are packed with grease for life. Once water or dirt gets past their seals, the grease breaks down and the balls and races start to pit, and that is the noise you hear.
- A rumble, grinding or high-pitched whine from the motor.
- The shaft feels rough, notchy or has side-to-side play when turned by hand with the power off.
- Noise that began after the seal leaked and water reached the motor.
- The motor tripping its overload because a dragging bearing is loading it up.
Why both bearings are changed together
The two bearings in a motor have done the same hours under the same conditions. If one is noisy, the other is usually not far behind, and getting at either one means pulling the motor apart. Replacing the pair in one go avoids a second strip-down.
If the bearings failed because the seal leaked, change the seal at the same time or the new bearings will go the same way. The Jetinox 110M service kit includes the bearings, the seal and a run capacitor.
Fitting the bearings, and pumps that share this set
Old bearings come off with a puller. Press new ones on by the inner race only, using a tube or socket that bears on the inner ring, and never hammer on the outer race or the seals. Check the end cap bores for wear before reassembly, as a worn bearing seat will shorten the life of a new bearing. If your old bearings look different from these, contact us before pressing anything on.
The same bearing set is listed for the DAB Jet 82M, DAB Jetinox 90M, Onga Leisuretime LTP400, Onga Leisuretime LTP550 and Onga Leisuretime LTP750.
Before you order
Check the old part before fitting: match the bearings in your old motor.
