The capacitor listed for the Davey Mukmova is a 40 µF (40 uF / 40 MFD), 450 VAC CBB60 motor-run capacitor with lug (spade) terminals. This aftermarket CapacitorsNZ part replaces a failed run capacitor of the same value. Before you order, read the µF printed on your old Mukmova capacitor: if it shows a value other than 40 µF, order that value instead.
Choosing the right capacitor for the Davey Mukmova
Three things need to line up. The µF value must match your old capacitor, within about 5 percent. The voltage must be the same or higher than the old one, and this unit carries a 450 VAC rating. The terminals should suit your wiring, and this one has lug (spade) terminals.
Pumps can have their motor or capacitor changed over the years, so the label on the old part is the thing to trust. The value is printed on its side as µF, uF or MFD. The same 40 µF part is sold without a model name as our 40 µF 450 V CBB60 capacitor.
Symptoms of a failed Mukmova capacitor
A run capacitor gives the motor the phase shift it needs to start turning and keeps it running efficiently. As it ages its capacitance drops, and the motor has to work harder.
- a hum from the motor with the shaft not turning, or a start only after the shaft is flicked by hand
- the breaker or motor overload tripping soon after the pump kicks in
- a motor that runs hot or sounds sluggish
- a swollen, split or oily capacitor case
Other Davey pumps listed with the 40 µF rating
The same 40 µF 450 VAC rating is listed for the Davey Mukmova 25301, the Davey Prime Jet 200 and the Davey Prime Jet 240. Even so, always check the number on the capacitor fitted to your pump. Capacitors store a charge, so turn off and isolate the power and discharge the old one safely before you touch the terminals. Capacitors for other Davey models are listed on our Davey service kits page.
Before you order
Check the old part before fitting: match the µF printed on your old capacitor.
