The Davey Mukmova 25301 is listed with a 40 µF (40 uF / 40 MFD) run capacitor. This CapacitorsNZ replacement is 40 µF with a 450 VAC rating, in a CBB60 motor-run body with lug (spade) terminals. Before ordering, read the µF value printed on your old capacitor and match it; if your pump’s capacitor shows a different number, order that value instead.
Choosing the right capacitor for the Davey Mukmova 25301
Three things matter when replacing a run capacitor. The capacitance must match the old one (within about ±5%), so check the µF (also written uF or MFD) on its label. The voltage rating must be the same or higher, never lower; 450 VAC is a common rating for single-phase pump motors on a 230 V supply. And the terminals should match your wiring, which here means lug (spade) connectors.
A 40 µF part is what this listing supplies for the Mukmova 25301, but a pump that has had its motor replaced may use another value. A label reading 25301 confirms which pump you have; the µF printed on the old capacitor decides which capacitor it needs. For more detail see our Davey Mukmova 25301 capacitor guide, or the stand-alone 40 µF 450 V CBB60 capacitor.
Signs the Mukmova 25301 run capacitor is failing
The run capacitor gives a single-phase motor the push it needs to start turning and stays in circuit while it runs. As it weakens, the motor struggles. Common signs:
- the motor hums but the shaft does not turn
- the pump only starts if you spin the shaft by hand
- the overload or breaker trips soon after switching on
- the case is swollen, split or leaking
Other Davey pumps with the same rating
The same 40 µF 450 VAC rating is listed for the Davey Mukmova, Davey Prime Jet 200 and Davey Prime Jet 240. Matching ratings make a spare easy to share between these pumps, but still match the value printed on each pump’s own capacitor.
Swapping the capacitor safely
Switch off and unplug or isolate the pump before opening the terminal box. A capacitor can hold a charge after the power is off, so discharge it safely (for example through a suitable resistor across the terminals) before touching it. Photograph the wiring first so the new one goes back the same way. If you’re not confident working with mains wiring, get an electrician to fit it.
If the shaft seal is weeping as well, the Davey Mukmova 25301 service kit adds the 1″ mechanical seal to this capacitor.
Before you order
Check the old part before fitting: match the µF printed on your old capacitor.
