The Davey Mukmova 25301 takes a mechanical seal for a 1″ (25.4 mm) shaft with carbon / ceramic faces. This CapacitorsNZ seal replaces Davey part 48800SP and Onga 700274, and it is the same seal used in the Davey Prime Jet 200 and Prime Jet 240. Compare it with your old seal before fitting.
Davey Mukmova 25301 seal part numbers
Davey’s seal number for the Mukmova 25301 is 48800SP, and this seal also replaces Onga 700274. If either number is on your parts list or the old seal’s packet, this seal replaces it. The pump label should show the model code 25301. It is also sold as our 1″ jet pump seal to suit the Onga 185, Davey Prime Jet and Mukmova.

Which pumps use the same seal
The Mukmova 25301 shares this seal with the Davey Mukmova, the Davey Prime Jet 200 and the Davey Prime Jet 240. The Onga 185 uses it too. Handy if you look after more than one of these pumps: one spare seal covers them all.
Signs the Mukmova 25301 seal has failed
A mechanical seal stops water following the spinning shaft out of the pump. It has a spring-loaded rotating face on the shaft and a stationary seat in the pump housing, and the two faces run against each other on a thin film of water. Once they wear or crack, you will usually see:
- drips or a steady weep from the gap between the pump housing and the motor
- a wet patch, white crust or rust marks under the pump
- if the pump runs on a pressure switch, it cutting in now and then with every tap shut, because pressure is leaking away
- a squealing noise from the seal area, often after the pump has been run dry
Fitting a new seal to the Mukmova 25301
Turn off and isolate the power, release the pressure and drain the pump before you start. Always replace both halves of the seal together; a new rotating face on an old seat will not seal for long. Keep the polished faces clean and don’t touch them with your fingers. Wet the rubber parts with clean water or a little soapy water rather than grease, so the seat slides into place evenly. Fill the pump with water before starting it, because even a short spell of dry running can damage new seal faces. If you want to confirm the size, the shaft where the seal sits on a Mukmova 25301 should measure 1″, which is 25.4 mm.
