The capacitor to suit the Davey Prime Jet 150 is a 30 µF (30 uF / 30 MFD), 450 VAC CBB60 motor-run capacitor with lug (spade) terminals, sold as an aftermarket CapacitorsNZ replacement. The same 30 µF rating is listed for the Prime Jet 90, Prime Jet 115 and PowerMaster PM450. Always match the µF printed on your old capacitor; if it shows another value, order that value instead.
Choosing the right capacitor for the Davey Prime Jet 150
Read the label on the side of the capacitor you are taking out. The capacitance is printed as µF, uF or MFD, and that number is what you match, normally within ±5%. This listing is 30 µF. If your old one says something else, the pump may have been fitted with a different motor, so order the value on the label, not the one on this page.
The voltage rating must be equal to or higher than the old one; ours carries a 450 VAC rating. Also check that it has lug (spade) terminals like your old one and that the body will fit in the space. The same part is sold under its spec as our 30 µF 450 V CBB60 capacitor.
Signs a pump run capacitor has failed
A weak or dead run capacitor is one of the most common electrical faults on small pump motors, and it is cheap to rule out before blaming the motor.
- The motor hums but won’t turn, or only starts if the shaft is flicked by hand.
- The pump trips the breaker or thermal overload soon after starting.
- The motor runs hot and slow, or the capacitor case is bulging, cracked or leaking.
Other Davey pumps listed at 30 µF
Our listings for the Davey Prime Jet 90, Davey Prime Jet 115 and Davey PowerMaster PM450 carry the same 30 µF 450 VAC rating. That helps if you have more than one of these pumps, but the label on your own capacitor still decides. Switch off and unplug the pump before opening the cover, and discharge the old capacitor before handling its terminals. If you can’t read the old label, send us a photo. Changing the seal at the same time? The Davey Prime Jet 150 service kit includes this capacitor, and other models are on our Davey service kits page.
Before you order
Check the old part before fitting: match the µF printed on your old capacitor.
