The Davey PACR100 pool cleaner/booster pump takes a mechanical seal for a 16 mm shaft with silicon carbide / silicon carbide faces. This CapacitorsNZ seal replaces Davey part numbers 49021 and 49021SP. It is an aftermarket part, so measure the shaft where your old seal sat and compare the old seal against the photos before fitting.
Which pumps use the same seal as the Davey PACR100
The same 16 mm silicon carbide seal is listed for the Davey PCCR100, Davey PCCR150, Davey PowerMaster and Davey PowerMaster PM450.
It is also listed for the Davey 150, Davey 200 (-1,-2), Davey 62701-4, Davey Power Ace 100, Davey Power Chief CR Series, Davey XB 201, Davey XB 301 and Davey XB 75101, which don’t have their own page here. The seal is sold on its own too, as our 16 mm pool pump seal. For other models, browse Davey service kits.
Signs the PACR100 seal has failed
A seal leak usually starts small and gets worse. Change it early: water running along the shaft is a common way pump motors lose their bearings.
- Water dripping from the join between the pump housing and the motor.
- A rusty or white mineral trail under the motor end.
- Water pooling around the base of the booster after it has been running.
- A squealing noise from the seal area, especially if the pump has been run dry.
Fitting notes for the PACR100 seal
Turn the power off at the isolator and drain the pump before you start. A mechanical seal has two halves: a stationary seat that presses into the pump housing, and a spring-loaded rotating face that rides on the shaft behind the impeller. Always replace both halves together, never mix old and new. Keep the silicon carbide faces clean and free of fingerprints, and ease the rubber parts into place with a little soapy water rather than grease. Once the pump is back together, make sure it is full of water before switching on and never run it dry, because the seal faces rely on water to cool and lubricate them.
Before you order
Check the old part before fitting: match the size of your old seal.
