A Davey PCCR100 pool cleaner/booster pump takes a mechanical seal for a 16 mm shaft. This CapacitorsNZ replacement has silicon carbide faces on both the rotating and stationary halves, and it replaces Davey part numbers 49021 and 49021SP. The same seal also suits the Davey PACR100, PCCR150 and PowerMaster. Measure the shaft or your old seal to confirm 16 mm before ordering.
How to tell you have a Davey PCCR100
Check the model on the pump’s label. A PCCR100 shows as PCCR100 or PCCR100-0. If your label reads PCCR150 instead, you have a different Davey model, although it happens to take this same 16 mm seal; its own page is our Davey PCCR150 mechanical seal. If the label has faded, measure the shaft where the old seal sat before ordering.
Davey part numbers the PCCR100 seal replaces
If a parts list, old packet or service sheet for your PCCR100 shows Davey 49021 or 49021SP, this is the seal that replaces it. It is the same 16 mm silicon carbide seal we also sell on its own as our 16 mm pool pump seal, so you can order from whichever page you found first.
Which pumps use the same seal as the Davey PCCR100
The PCCR100 shares this seal with the Davey PACR100, Davey PCCR150, Davey PowerMaster and Davey PowerMaster PM450.
It also suits these Davey pumps, which don’t have their own page with us: Davey 150, Davey 200 (-1,-2), Davey 62701-4, Davey Power Ace 100, Davey Power Chief CR Series, Davey XB 201, Davey XB 301 and Davey XB 75101. If you look after more than one of these pumps, the same seal part fits each of them. For other Davey models, start from our Davey service kits list.
Signs the Davey PCCR100 seal has failed
Change a leaking seal early. Water that gets past the faces runs along the shaft into the motor, where it rusts the bearings.
- Drips or a damp patch between the pump body and the motor.
- A rust or white mineral streak down the motor casing.
- A grinding or squealing noise from the motor end after a leak has gone on for a while.
Fitting a new seal to the PCCR100
Silicon carbide faces are very hard and stand up well to grit, but they chip if dropped, so keep them in the packet until you need them. Don’t touch the polished faces with your fingers; wipe them with a clean tissue if needed. Use soapy water, not grease or oil, on the rubber parts so the stationary seat slides squarely into the housing. Push it in evenly with a soft tool. Never run the pump dry once the new seal is in. The faces rely on a film of water to stay cool, and even a short dry run can overheat and crack them. Before switching on, make sure the pump body is full of water.
Before you order
Check the old part before fitting: match the size of your old seal.
