The DAB K45/50 is listed with a 30 µF (30 uF / 30 MFD) run capacitor, and this replacement is a 30 µF 450 VAC CBB60 motor-run capacitor with core leads. Before ordering, read the value printed on your old capacitor: if it shows 30 µF this is the matching value, and if it shows a different value, order that value instead.
DAB K45/50 capacitor specs
- Capacitance: 30 µF.
- Voltage: 450 VAC.
- Body: CBB60 motor-run.
- Connection: core leads.
Choosing the right capacitor for the K45/50
Go by what is printed on the old capacitor in your pump, not just the model name. Pumps get repaired over the years and the part fitted may not be the one the motor left the factory with. Look for the value marked µF, uF or MFD. A replacement should match that capacitance (within about ±5%), and its voltage should be the same as the old one or higher; never fit a lower voltage.
The same 30 µF 450 VAC capacitor is also sold without a model name as our CBB60 30 µF 450 V capacitor.
Signs the K45/50 capacitor is failing
Capacitors lose value gradually, so symptoms often creep in rather than arrive all at once.
- The motor hums but won’t turn, or only starts if the shaft is given a flick.
- The pump trips the breaker or thermal overload soon after starting.
- The motor runs slow or hot, or the old capacitor is swollen, cracked or leaking.
Other pumps listed at 30 µF
The DAB DP151, DAB Jet 151, DAB Jet 200, DAB K30/100 and Filtermaster SB20 are listed with the same 30 µF rating. A shared listing is a guide only: the value printed on the capacitor in your own pump is what counts. Parts for other DAB models are on our DAB service kits page.
Swapping the capacitor safely
Switch off and unplug the pump before you touch the capacitor. Treat the old capacitor as live until it has been safely discharged, as it can hold a charge after power is removed. Note or photograph which wire goes where before disconnecting it. If you are not confident doing that, get an electrician to do the swap.
Before you order
Check the old part before fitting: match the µF printed on your old capacitor.
