The Onga Pantera PPP1500 pool pump takes a mechanical seal for a 3/4″ shaft with carbon / ceramic faces. Onga’s seal number for this model is 700270. This CapacitorsNZ seal replaces Onga 700270 and also Astral 75508; measure your shaft and compare the old seal before fitting.
Onga Pantera PPP1500 seal part numbers and label codes
If you are matching by part number, this seal replaces Onga 700270 and Astral 75508. If you are matching by pump, check the label on the PPP1500: it may read PPP1500, PPP1500H or simply Pantera 1500. Any of those identifies the pump this 3/4″ carbon / ceramic seal is matched to, but still measure the shaft and compare the old seal before fitting.

Signs the PPP1500 seal is leaking
Deal with a seal leak early. Water that gets past the faces runs along the shaft towards the front motor bearing.
- Drips or a damp patch where the pump housing meets the motor.
- Rust streaks or white scale on the motor mount or the pad underneath.
- Air in the strainer basket or the pump losing prime when nothing else has changed.
Fitting notes
Always fit both halves of the new seal; an old ceramic seat paired with a new carbon face will not seal reliably. Clean out the seat recess, press the ceramic in square with the polished face outwards, and keep both running faces clean and dry. A little soapy water on the rubber parts helps them slide into place without tearing. If water has already reached the motor, the PPP1500 bearing set is worth changing at the same time, or the PPP1500 service kit covers the seal, bearings and run capacitor in one order.
