The Onga Pantera PPP1100 pool pump takes a mechanical seal for a 3/4″ shaft with carbon / ceramic faces. This CapacitorsNZ seal replaces Onga 700270, the Onga seal number for this model, and Astral 75508. If your pump label is unreadable, measure the shaft where the old seal sat to confirm the 3/4″ size before ordering.
How to tell you have an Onga Pantera PPP1100
Check the model label on your pump and look for PPP1100 or Pantera 1100. Our listings cover several Pantera sizes, including the PPP550, PPP750 and PPP1500, so read the full code rather than going by how the pump looks. If the label has faded, the shaft size is the next check: this seal suits a 3/4″ shaft, measured where the rotating half of the seal sits.

Signs the Pantera PPP1100 seal has failed
- Water dripping or weeping from the gap between the pump housing and the motor.
- A rust or white mineral trail running down below the motor.
- Water pooling on the pad under the pump after it has been running.
- A damp or rusty motor end after the pump has been running.
Fitting the Pantera PPP1100 seal
Turn the power off at the isolator, close the valves and drain the pump first. Press the stationary seat squarely into its recess in the housing, and keep the polished faces clean and free of finger marks. Slide the spring half onto the shaft, refit the impeller, and never run the pump dry once it is back together, because the faces rely on water to stay cool. If the motor has been noisy, the Pantera PPP1100 service kit adds the bearings and capacitor.
