The DAB K30/70 is listed with a 20 µF (20 uF / 20 MFD) run capacitor for its single-phase motor. This CapacitorsNZ replacement is 20 µF at 450 VAC, in a CBB60 motor-run body with core leads. Before you order, read the µF value printed on your old capacitor: if it is not 20 µF, choose the capacitor that matches your old one rather than this listing.
Choosing the right capacitor for the DAB K30/70
The number that matters is the µF value printed on the old capacitor, sometimes shown as uF or MFD. A replacement should match it, usually within a 5% tolerance, and carry a voltage figure at least as high as the original. A 450 VAC part is a normal choice for a single-phase motor on a 230 V supply.
The model name on the pump label tells you which pump you have, but it does not settle the capacitor value, so go by what is printed on your own capacitor. Our DAB K-series capacitor guide covers the range, and seals and kits for other models sit on the DAB brand page.
Signs the DAB K30/70 capacitor has failed
- The motor hums but will not turn, or only starts if the shaft is given a spin.
- The pump starts slowly, then trips the overload or the breaker.
- The motor runs hot and the pressure is down.
- The old capacitor is swollen, cracked or leaking.
Other pumps listed with a 20 µF capacitor
The same 20 µF 450 VAC rating is listed for the AstralPool CX180, AstralPool CX240, AstralPool CX280, DAB K35/40, Grundfos JP5, Onga Leisuretime LTP550, Onga Leisuretime LTP750, Onga Pantera PPP550 and Onga Pantera PPP750. A 20 µF 450 V CBB60 capacitor is also sold as a general part: our 20 µF 450 V CBB60 capacitor.
Swapping a flying-lead capacitor
Turn off and isolate the power, and treat the old capacitor as live until it has been discharged safely, as a capacitor can hold a charge after the power is off. Take a photo of the wiring before disconnecting anything. Core ls are wires that come out of the capacitor body, so they join into the motor’s connections rather than pushing onto spade tabs. Run capacitors are not polarised, so the two leads can go either way round. Secure the new body so it cannot rub or vibrate, and if you are not confident with mains wiring, have an electrician fit it.
Before you order
Check the old part before fitting: match the µF printed on your old capacitor.
