The capacitor listed for the DAB K35/40 is a 20 µF, 450 VAC run capacitor in a CBB60 motor-run body with core leads. Before you order, read the value printed on your old capacitor: if it says 20 µF (or 20 uF / 20 MFD), this is the match. If it shows a different number, buy that value instead.
Choosing the right capacitor for the DAB K35/40
A replacement run capacitor needs the same µF value as the one it replaces, within about ±5%, and a voltage rating equal to or higher than the original. This one carries a 450 VAC rating. Pumps carrying the same model name can be fitted with different motors over the years, so the number on your old capacitor is what counts, not the model name alone.
This 20 µF part is also sold on its own as our CBB60 20 µF 450 V capacitor.
- Capacitance: 20 µF.
- Voltage: 450 VAC.
- Body: CBB60 motor-run.
- Connection: core leads.
Signs the K35/40 capacitor has failed
A run capacitor stays in circuit the whole time the motor is running, so a weak one shows up as a motor that struggles. Turn the power off and wait before handling an old capacitor, because it can hold a charge.
- The motor hums but won’t turn, or only starts after the shaft is spun by hand.
- The breaker or the motor’s overload trips soon after the pump starts.
- The motor runs hot and slow, or the old capacitor is swollen, cracked or leaking.
Other pumps listed with a 20 µF capacitor
The same 20 µF 450 VAC rating is listed for the AstralPool CX180, AstralPool CX240, AstralPool CX280, DAB K30/70, Grundfos JP5, Onga Leisuretime LTP550, Onga Leisuretime LTP750, Onga Pantera PPP550 and Onga Pantera PPP750. Whatever the pump, check the µF on the old capacitor before ordering.
If the pump is also leaking at the shaft, the K35/40 service kit adds the 15 mm mechanical seal to this capacitor. For other DAB pumps, see DAB service kits.
Before you order
Check the old part before fitting: match the µF printed on your old capacitor.
