The service kit to suit the DAB K36/100 holds two CapacitorsNZ parts: a mechanical seal for a 15 mm shaft with carbon / ceramic faces, which replaces DAB 100M/16, and a 40 µF (40 uF / 40 MFD) 450 VAC CBB60 run capacitor with core leads. Between them they cover a leaking shaft seal and a motor that is slow to start, two of the usual faults on a single-phase centrifugal pump. Check both old parts before fitting.
What’s in the DAB K36/100 service kit
Each part in the kit also has its own listing, so if only one has failed you can buy that one by itself. The kit simply bundles both for owners who want to do the whole job in a single strip-down, with the seal and capacitor both chosen for the K36/100. The seal is also sold without a model name as our 15 mm carbon / ceramic pump seal.
- Mechanical seal to suit the DAB K36/100: 15 mm shaft, carbon / ceramic faces, replaces DAB 100M/16.
- 40 µF run capacitor to suit the DAB K36/100: 450 VAC, CBB60 motor-run body, core leads.
Why service the K36/100 seal and capacitor together
Replacing a mechanical seal means isolating the pump, draining it and separating the pump end from the motor. With the power already off and the pump already apart, swapping the run capacitor at the same time adds very little extra work.
Run capacitors lose capacitance slowly as they age. A tired capacitor makes the motor draw more current and run warmer, which is easy to miss until the pump stops starting at all. Fitting a new one while the pump is apart means the wet end and the motor’s starting circuit are both renewed in the same job.
Check your K36/100 label and old parts first
Read the DAB nameplate on the pump: the model should read K36/100. If your label shows a different DAB model, order the kit for that model instead, because capacitor values can differ from one pump to the next.
Before fitting, compare the old seal with the new one and read the µF value on the old capacitor, printed as µF, uF or MFD. Our DAB K-series capacitor guide has more detail. If anything looks different, send a photo of the label and old parts through our contact page. Kits for other DAB pumps are on our DAB service kits page.
Before you order
Check the old parts before fitting: match the µF printed on your old capacitor and the size of your old seal.
