The service kit to suit the DAB K35/40 contains two parts: a mechanical seal for the 15 mm shaft with carbon / ceramic faces, replacing DAB seal 100M/16, and a 20 µF (20 uF / 20 MFD) 450 VAC CBB60 run capacitor with core leads. It covers the wet end and the electrical end of the pump in one order. Before buying, confirm your old capacitor reads 20 µF and your old seal matches.
What’s in the DAB K35/40 service kit
Two wear parts come in the box, and the kit is priced below the pair bought one at a time. If you only need one of them, each is sold separately: the K35/40 mechanical seal and the K35/40 run capacitor.
- Mechanical seal: suits a 15 mm shaft, carbon / ceramic faces, replaces DAB 100M/16.
- Run capacitor: 20 µF at 450 VAC, CBB60 motor-run body, core leads.
Why service the K35/40 seal and capacitor together
Getting to a mechanical seal usually means turning off and isolating the power, draining the pump and separating the pump end from the motor. Once you are that far in, changing the capacitor is a small extra step, and it saves a second job on the same pump later.
Both parts wear with running hours, although either one can also fail suddenly. A tired seal starts to weep and lets water travel along the shaft towards the motor. A run capacitor gradually loses capacity, so the motor takes longer to get up to speed, runs warmer and may eventually just hum. Doing both on the same job puts the pump back to work with new parts at each end.
Checks before you open the K35/40
Make sure the pump’s label reads K35/40. Look at the side of the old capacitor for the µF value (it may be printed as µF, uF or MFD); if it is not 20 µF, buy the seal on its own and a capacitor that matches the old one instead of this kit. Measure the shaft where the seal sits and compare the old seal with the photos.
Other DAB kits are listed under DAB service kits. Unused parts can be sent back under our returns policy, and if you are not sure, send us a photo of the old parts and the pump label.
Before you order
Check the old parts before fitting: match the µF printed on your old capacitor and the size of your old seal.
