About this part

The Onga Leisuretime LTP750 service kit holds three parts: a carbon / ceramic mechanical seal for a 1/2″ shaft that replaces Onga 702789, a 20 µF (20 uF / 20 MFD) 450 VAC CBB60 run capacitor with core leads, and a matched pair of sealed ball bearings for the drive end and fan end of the motor. The kit costs less than buying the three parts one at a time.

What’s in the Onga Leisuretime LTP750 service kit

Each part in the kit is also sold on its own, so if you only need one of them you can order it separately. The seal is the same one sold without a model name as our 1/2″ jet pump seal.

  • Mechanical seal: suits a 1/2″ shaft, carbon / ceramic faces, replaces Onga 702789 and Davey 48802SP.
  • Run capacitor: 20 µF, 450 VAC, CBB60 motor-run body with core leads.
  • Motor bearing set: two sealed ball bearings, one for the drive end and one for the fan end.

Why service the LTP750 seal, capacitor and bearings in one strip-down

On a pool pump the seal is usually the first part to wear. When it starts to weep, the water tends to run along the shaft towards the motor, and the bearings are the next thing to suffer. Changing the seal already means separating the motor from the wet end, so the bearings can be done in the same strip-down.

The capacitor is the quickest of the three to change. Run capacitors lose capacity slowly with heat and age, so a pump that has been sluggish to get going or has started humming before it spins is often due for one. Doing all three while the LTP750 is apart means one shutdown and one reassembly instead of three.

Before you take the LTP750 apart

Check the model on the pump’s label reads LTP750 or LTP 750. Then compare your old parts with the new ones before fitting anything: the size of the old seal, the µF value printed on the old capacitor, and the bearings in the old motor. If the capacitor in your pump shows a value other than 20 µF, fit that value instead and contact us if you need it. Capacitor details for this pump are in our LTP750 capacitor guide, and unused parts can be sent back under our returns policy. Kits for other Onga pumps are on our Onga service kits page.

Before you order

Check the old parts before fitting: match the µF printed on your old capacitor and the size of your old seal.

Questions

What is in the Onga Leisuretime LTP750 service kit?

A 1/2″ carbon / ceramic mechanical seal that replaces Onga 702789, a 20 µF 450 VAC run capacitor with flying leads, and a drive-end and fan-end motor bearing set for the LTP750.

Is the LTP750 kit cheaper than buying the parts separately?

Yes. The Onga Leisuretime LTP750 kit costs less than the seal, capacitor and bearing set bought one by one, and the page shows the exact saving.

Can I buy just the seal for my Onga LTP750?

Yes. The LTP750 mechanical seal for the Onga Leisuretime LTP750 is sold on its own, as are the capacitor and the bearing set.

Does the Onga Leisuretime LTP550 use the same kit parts as the LTP750?

The LTP550 is listed with the same seal, the same bearing set and the same 20 µF capacitor rating, but it has its own LTP550 service kit. Check the label on your pump and the µF on your old capacitor before choosing.

Is this an Onga-made service kit?

No. The Onga Leisuretime LTP750 kit is an aftermarket kit sold under the CapacitorsNZ brand to suit the pump. It is not made or endorsed by Onga.

What if it doesn't fit?

If you're unsure, send us a photo of your old part and the pump's label before ordering.
