The service kit to suit the DAB K30/70 holds two parts: a mechanical seal for the 15 mm shaft with carbon / ceramic faces, which replaces DAB seal 100M/16, and a 20 µF (20 uF / 20 MFD) 450 VAC CBB60 run capacitor with core leads. Together they cover the wet end and the electrical end of this single-phase centrifugal pump in one job. Check your old seal and the µF on your old capacitor first.
What’s in the DAB K30/70 service kit
Two CapacitorsNZ parts, packed together and priced below the pair bought one at a time. If you only need one of them, each is also sold separately: the K30/70 mechanical seal and the K30/70 run capacitor.
- Mechanical seal: suits a 15 mm shaft, carbon / ceramic faces, replaces DAB 100M/16.
- Run capacitor: 20 µF, 450 VAC, CBB60 motor-run body, core leads.
Why change both while the pump is apart
Getting at a mechanical seal means switching off and isolating the power, draining the casing and pulling the pump end away from the motor. With the power already isolated and the pump open, changing the capacitor as well is a short extra step, and you avoid a second job later.
The two parts wear for different reasons. Seal faces lap against each other every time the pump runs, and once they stop sealing, water tracks along the shaft towards the motor. A run capacitor loses capacity slowly with heat and age, so the motor gets slower to start and runs warmer before it finally fails. Doing both at once puts the pump back on the well with a fresh seal and a fresh capacitor.
Same parts on the DAB K35/40
The DAB K35/40 is listed with the same 15 mm seal, replacing DAB 100M/16, and the same 20 µF 450 VAC capacitor rating as the K30/70. If you also look after a K35/40, see the DAB K35/40 service kit, and still check the µF on that pump’s own capacitor. Kits for other DAB models are grouped on the DAB service kits page.
Checking your DAB K30/70 before you order
Confirm from the model name on the pump label that you have a K30/70, then check the old parts against the specs above rather than going by the label alone. Read the µF value on the side of the old capacitor, and if it shows something other than 20 µF, buy the seal on its own plus a capacitor that matches the old one; our DAB K-series capacitor guide helps here.
Measure the shaft where the seal sits and compare the old seal with the photos. Unused parts can go back under our returns policy, and if you are unsure, send a photo of the label and old parts through our contact page.
Before you order
Check the old parts before fitting: match the µF printed on your old capacitor and the size of your old seal.
