The service kit to suit the Pedrollo PKM90 single-phase peripheral pump has three parts: a mechanical seal for a 12 mm shaft with carbon / ceramic faces, a 20 µF (20 uF / 20 MFD) 450 VAC CBB60 run capacitor with lug (spade) terminals, and a matched pair of sealed ball bearings for the motor’s drive end and fan end. Each part is also sold on its own, and the kit costs less than buying all three.
What’s in the Pedrollo PKM90 service kit
Three parts, packed together for the PKM90. Each one is also sold individually if you only need a single part.
- Mechanical seal to suit a 12 mm shaft, carbon / ceramic faces.
- Run capacitor, 20 µF, 450 VAC, CBB60 motor-run body with lug (spade) terminals.
- Motor bearing set: a matched pair of sealed ball bearings, drive end and fan end.
Why rebuild the Pedrollo PKM90 in one job
On a peripheral pump the seal is the part that wears first. Once it weeps, water can follow the shaft towards the motor, and the motor bearings are what usually suffer next. To change the seal you already have to isolate the power, drain the pump, split the pump body from the motor and take the impeller off. Going one step further and pressing new bearings onto the shaft adds bench time but saves stripping the same pump again later.
The capacitor is the quickest of the three to change. A pump that has been slow to get going or has been humming at start-up is often running on a tired capacitor, so it makes sense to renew it while everything is open. When the PKM90 goes back on the well, all three wear parts are new at once.
Check the PKM90 label and old parts before ordering
Confirm the motor label reads PKM90, then check each old part against its replacement. Measure the shaft where the old seal sat, read the µF printed on the old capacitor and compare the old bearings with the new pair. If anything does not match, contact us before fitting. For capacitor details across the range, see the Pedrollo PKM capacitor guide. Kits for other models are under Pedrollo service kits.
Before you order
Check the old parts before fitting: match the µF printed on your old capacitor and the size of your old seal.
