The mechanical seal that fits the DAB K30/100 is a 15 mm shaft seal with carbon / ceramic faces, replacing DAB seal number 100M/16. This CapacitorsNZ seal is also listed for other DAB K-series models such as the K30/70 and K36/100, and for the DP151. Measure the shaft or compare your old seal with the photos before fitting it.
DAB K30/100 seal specifications
A mechanical seal has two halves. A spring-loaded rotating head rides on the pump shaft, and a stationary seat is pressed into the pump body. The two lapped faces run against each other on a thin film of water, which is what stops the pump leaking along the shaft. This seal is also sold on its own as our 15 mm mechanical seal to suit DAB K-series pumps.
- Shaft size: 15 mm.
- Faces: carbon / ceramic.
- Replaces: DAB 100M/16.
Other pumps that take the 100M/16 seal
These DAB models are listed with the same 100M/16 replacement seal and have their own pages: DAB DP151, DAB K12/200, DAB K14/400, DAB K30/70, DAB K35/40, DAB K36/100, DAB K45/50 and DAB K55/50.
The same seal is also listed for the DAB DP100, KH35/100 and KH40/100, the Davies JET Series 2.0-3.0Hp, K Series 1.5Hp and KA Series 1.5-2.0Hp, the Ebara 2CDX, CD, CDX, JE and JEX, the Grundfos JPF4, JPF5 and JPF7, the Onga OCS 401-405, and the Pentax CAB, CM150, CM200, CM300, TE and TF-JET. Pump versions vary, so always compare against your old seal.
Signs the K30/100 seal is worn
Change the seal as soon as it starts to weep. Water running along the shaft into the motor end is a common way pump bearings get ruined, which turns a seal job into a motor repair. If you are unsure the seal is the culprit, send us a photo of the leak and the pump label. Seals for other DAB pumps are under DAB service kits.
- Water dripping from the gap between the pump casing and the motor.
- A damp patch, white crust or rust streak under the motor.
- On a pressure system, the pump cycling on and off with every tap closed, which can point to a leak, and a weeping seal is one possible cause.
Before you order
Check the old part before fitting: match the size of your old seal.
