The DAB K20/41 service kit pairs two CapacitorsNZ parts: a mechanical seal for a 13 mm shaft with carbon / ceramic faces, which replaces DAB 61M/16, and a 10 µF (10 uF / 10 MFD) 450 VAC CBB60 run capacitor with core leads. It renews the part that wears and leaks and the part that helps the motor start and run, in one order, and each is also sold on its own if you only need one.
What’s in the DAB K20/41 service kit
Two parts, each with its own page if you would rather buy them separately. The seal is also sold without a model name as our 13 mm jet pump seal, and the capacitor as our 10 µF 450 V CBB60 capacitor.
- Mechanical seal to suit the K20/41: 13 mm shaft, carbon / ceramic faces, replaces DAB 61M/16.
- 10 µF run capacitor to suit the K20/41: CBB60 motor-run body, 450 VAC, core leads.
Why change the K20/41 seal and capacitor together
A mechanical seal is a wear item. Its two polished faces run against each other on a thin film of water, and over time grit, dry running and age wear them until the pump starts to drip between the pump body and the motor. Left alone, that leak tracks along the shaft toward the motor bearings and windings.
The run capacitor ages differently. Heat and years in service slowly reduce its capacitance, so the motor gets lazier at start-up and runs warmer, often long before the capacitor looks damaged. When the pump is already isolated and opened up for a seal change, fitting a fresh capacitor at the same time is a small extra step and takes one common cause of a hard-starting motor off the list. Buying the pair as a kit costs less than ordering the seal and capacitor one at a time.
Before you open up the DAB K20/41
Confirm the rating plate says DAB K20/41, then line up each old part with its replacement. Read the capacitance printed on the old capacitor (shown as µF, uF or MFD) and make sure it says 10, and check that the old seal suits a 13 mm shaft. Older pumps sometimes carry parts that were swapped during an earlier repair, so the old part always has the final say. If something does not match, send photos of the old parts and the label through our contact page. Unused parts can come back under our returns policy. More kits for this brand are on our DAB service kits page.
Before you order
Check the old parts before fitting: match the µF printed on your old capacitor and the size of your old seal.
