The capacitor listed for the Davey PCCR150 is a 12 µF (12 uF / 12 MFD), 450 VAC CBB60 motor-run capacitor with lug (spade) terminals, for this single-phase pool cleaner/booster pump. Before ordering, read the µF value printed on your old capacitor. If it says 12 µF, this is the match; if it shows any other value, order that value instead.
Choosing the right capacitor for the Davey PCCR150
The number that matters is the capacitance, printed on the side of the old can as µF, uF or MFD. A run capacitor should match that figure, usually within ±5%. The voltage rating only has to be equal to or higher than the old one, never lower, and this capacitor carries a 450 VAC rating. It has lug (spade) terminals for push-on connectors, so check your old capacitor is wired the same way.
Before touching the old capacitor, switch off and isolate the pump, then discharge the old capacitor safely before handling it, as it can hold a charge after the power is removed. Photograph the wiring before disconnecting anything.
How to tell you have a PCCR150
Look at the pump label: a Davey PCCR150 may show the code PCCR150-0. That code identifies the pump, but it does not prove your particular motor uses 12 µF, so always go by the value on your old capacitor. The Davey PCCR capacitor guide has more detail, and if the label is faded or the value is unreadable, send us a photo before ordering.
If the shaft seal is weeping as well, the Davey PCCR150 service kit pairs this capacitor with a 16 mm mechanical seal. Other Davey models are listed under Davey service kits.
Signs the run capacitor has failed
- The motor hums but won’t turn, or only starts after the shaft is spun by hand.
- The pump trips the circuit breaker or motor overload soon after starting.
- The old capacitor is swollen, cracked or leaking.
Other Davey pumps listed at 12 µF
The same 12 µF 450 VAC rating is listed for the Davey Dynaprime, Davey HS50, Davey HS60, Davey PACR100, Davey PCCR100, Davey Silensor SLS75, Davey Silensor SLS100, Davey Silensor SLS150, Davey Silensor SLS200 and Davey XP Series. It is also sold as a general-purpose 12 µF 450 V CBB60 capacitor.
Before you order
Check the old part before fitting: match the µF printed on your old capacitor.
